Willow Granny Square



For this pattern you can use any yarn and corresponding hook size, but I used a 3.5 mm hook and 3/Dk Cotton Yarn.


Round 1: Begin with a magic ring, ch 3(counts as a DC). Work 15 DC in the ring. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning ch-3. (16 DC)


Round 2: Ch 4 (counts as 1 DC and ch-1 space). 1 DC in the next DC, ch 1. Join with a slip stitch to the 3rd ch of the beginning ch-4.


Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as 1 DC). Work 2 DC in the ch-1 space, 1 DC in the next DC. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the ch-3.


Round 4: **Ch 5. Skip 2 stitches, 1 SC in the next stitch.Ch 3, skip 2 stitches, SC in the next stitch. Ch 4, skip 2, SC in the next. Ch 3, skip 2, SC in the next**. Repeat around.


Round 5: Sl st into the ch-5 space.[Ch 3, 4 DC, ch 3, 5 DC] into the ch-5 space.SC into the ch-3 space.7 DC into the ch-4 space.SC into the ch-3 space.[5 DC, ch 3, 5 DC] into the ch-5 space.Sl st into the 3rd ch.


Round 6: Ch 6. [SC, ch 3, SC] into the ch-3 space.Ch 4, DC into the SC from the previous round.Ch 3, SC into the 4th DC of the DC-7 fan.Ch 3, DC into the SC from the previous round.Ch 4, [SC, ch 3, SC] into the next ch-3 space.Sl st into the 2nd ch from the beginning.


Round 7: Sl st into the ch-4 space.Ch 3, 4 DC into the space.3 DC, ch 3, 3 DC into the ch-3 space.5 DC into the ch-4 space.3 DC into each of the next three ch-3 spaces.5 DC into the ch-4 space. Repeat around.Sl st into the 3rd ch. Ch 1.


Round 8: Ch 1. Work 1 SC in each DC and (2 SC, ch 2, 2 SC) in each corner ch-2 space around. Join with a slip stitch to the first SC. 


Round 9: Repeat Round 8 and Tie off your work.
